Rio Grande Regional Hospital
Founded in 1982, Rio Grande Regional Hospital (RGRH) an HCA-affiliated facility is proud of maintaining its status as one of the leading healthcare providers in the Rio Grande Valley. For nearly 30 years, we have remained focused and committed to providing quality healthcare to all members of our community.
With 320 beds and a team of more than 500 physicians representing over 35 specialties, we offer a range of inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical, and specialty services.
From fragile newborns to the most complex cardiovascular patients, RGRH has a proven track record of serving the Valley’s health interests. That’s why we have been recognized time and time again for patient safety and clinical excellence.
Rio Grande Regional Hospital provides the community with an Accredited Diabetes Management Center, as designated by the American Diabetes Association. Since 2007, we have maintained our designation as a Bariatric Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Our lab services are CLIA and CAP accredited, and we can boast a Level III NICU with 24/7 in-house neonatal coverage.
With over 1,100 medical professionals, we work hard every day to provide cutting-edge medical care delivered in a personalized way.
Children’s Medical Center
When it comes to caring for the little ones, we know that being in the hospital isn’t the same for kids as it is for adults. And we realize parents expect only the very best care for their children. This is why we continue to work hard to offer highly specialized medical care to our little ones, close to home.
We are proud and excited to be the first and only hospital in the Rio Grande Valley with a Pediatric Heart Program. Now, our tiny patients no longer have to leave the Valley to receive advance medical treatment.
With over 75 pediatricians on staff who cover all specialties—from pulmonology and neurology to cardiovascular surgery—along with our full surgical and diagnostic pediatric capabilities, the Children’s Medical Center at Rio Grande Regional Hospital is a great place for getting kids well on their way! We have a total of 56 pediatric beds, including a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Step-Down Program.
The tiniest patients at Rio Grande Regional Hospital are cared for in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a Level III unit that provides highly specialized care. Our 30 bed unit is staffed by a comprehensive team that includes board-certified Neonatologists. All NICU and Newborn Nursery Staff are Certified Providers of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program.
We provide the specialized expertise of a comprehensive medical team – committed to excellence and innovation in caring for our youngest patients – close to home. No hospital in the Rio Grande Valley has dedicated more resources to caring for sick children than we have.
